“Not since it’s birth has Israel been so cast adrift by its closest ally.” So says Charles Krauthammer in this hard hitting column about Obama’s incoherent position on Israel, “knowingly and obviously contradictory, it is a declaration of weakness and passivity.” Which, Krathammer says, increases the chance of war. Mark Steyn writes of a dying superpower’s blundering response when “on a highly symbolic date, mobs storm American diplomatic facilities and drag the corpse of a US ambassador through the streets. Then the President flies to Vegas for a fundraiser.”
Steyn goes on to speculate on what might have been…and what the American press really needs to investigate in this fiasco.
He writes: “The 400-strong assault force in Benghazi showed up with RPGs and mortars: That’s not a spontaneous movie protest; that’s an act of war, and better planned and executed than the dying superpower’s response to it. Secretary Clinton and General Dempsey are, to put it mildly, misleading the American people when they suggest otherwise…The men who organized this attack knew the ambassador would be at the consulate in Benghazi rather than at the embassy in Tripoli. How did that happen? They knew when he had been moved from the consulate to a “safe house,” and switched their attentions accordingly. How did that happen? The United States government lost track of its ambassador for ten hours. How did that happen?”

“Romney Gets It Right: It Was ‘Disgraceful’“…I agree, Romney got it right!!
“What Film? Qaeda Says Benghazi Attack ‘Revenge’ for Leader’s Death” – Wait a minute…our esteemed President and his administration are falling all over themselves blaming an “anti Islamic” film for the attacks this week on US Consulants. Yet al Quaeda says it is ‘revenge’ for killing their leader. Now…who are we to believe…??
http://is.gd/8FDPbY “Obama, Egypt and Israel: None Dare Call it Treason, 50 Years Later” – “Confronted with all this bad news, the mainstream media seems to have made a key decision on its coverage–attack Mitt Romney. They will continue to defend their anointed champion, Obama, against attacks on his foreign policy record…Romney’s basic point (read it here) http://is.gd/hWKEh7 was that Islamists are attacking us because we are weak; as a campaign document puts it, “We have seen a foreign policy of weakness and decline in American influence and respect. Yesterday, we saw the consequences of this perceived weakness.” And that’s what has sent the MSM into overdrive in defense of Obama. Romney is now being picked apart on minor timeline issues (issues on which he was correct), while the major thrust of what he said–his critique of Obama policy weakness–is ignored.” There’s a lot more here, if you want to read on…
“Feds Put Target on Filmmaker’s Back” – Thursday an AP story tells how the corrupt US Justice Department (under Eric Holder) has identified, by a federal law enforcement official, the name of the film maker of the film, “Innocence of Muslims” which is purported to be the cause of all the Islamic uprisings in the Middle East. This accusation is only believed by the Obama administration and other ‘blame-America-first’ naifs. They not only gave his name, but his home city, and by implication, his address. In today’s world, they have just marked this man as an Islamic target. No matter what he has done, it is not reason to directly implicate him and provide a tangible target for any unsettled, angry Muslim to go after. Read on…
“Feds Investigate Christian Filmmaker“ – And the story goes on. Here’s another article about how a filmmaker is being scapegoated and persecuted by our government and media. “His only crime was doing something Hollywood and celebrated artists do on a regular basis, and sometimes with our tax dollars — denigrating a religion. Only this filmmaker made the mistake of denigrating Islam. So now he finds himself hunted. Had he poured the same energy and derision on Christianity, today he’d be celebrated.” Read on…
If you want some current news that doesn’t come from the liberal main-street-press, here are a couple of links that will give you plenty to read…you won’t believe what is really going on. Then again, you just might…!
Now the following is a bit late, but it is still germane to what is happening right now…
Seems the DNC was quite a sight – Here are some articles about that convention & Obama’s acceptance speech:
“Cheering Failure” by Mychal Massie…responding to an email attack which was without substance, though vitriolic…
So…the “If you don’t do it our way, we’ll go after you” Department – David Axelrod intimidated the Gallup poll, and when the Gallup poll did not comply, the Justice Department revived a 2009 lawsuit against Gallup. Here is the story:
“Employees at the venerable Gallup polling firm suggested they felt threatened by Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod when he questioned the methodology of a mid-April poll showing Mitt Romney leading the president – according to internal emails published Thursday.
That poll showed Romney leading Obama 48-43 percent.
The exchange, according to emails published by The Daily Caller, started when Axelrod sent a tweet saying the tracking poll was “saddled with some methodological problems” and directing followers to a National Journal story in which a professor suggested outdated sampling.
According to the email chain titled “Axelrod vs. Gallup,” the White House in addition asked that a Gallup staffer “come over and explain our methodology,” which was apparently perceived as a subtle threat.
A Gallup official said in an email he thought Axelrod’s pressure “sounds a little like a Godfather situation.”
“Imagine Axel[rod] with Brando’s voice: ‘I’d like you to come over and explain your methodology…You got a nice poll there … would be a shame if anything happened to it… .’”
The exchanges also show that Gallup invited White House officials to its Washington offices, but it remains unclear whether any of the meetings occurred.
However, when Gallup declined to change its polling methodology, the Obama administration’s Justice Department revived a 2009 whistle-blower lawsuit against the firm by joining the suit, a senior Gallup official alleges.
The suit was filed by former Gallup employee Michael Lindley, who claims the firm violated the False Claims Act by overcharging the federal government for its services.
Gallup declined to talk about the issue. Calls to the Justice Department, the White House and the Obama campaign have not been returned.
Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs told The Washington Times this week that he was unaware of any communications between the campaign and Gallup.”
For all you pundits…Here’s Matthew Norman: “If there is one commodity of which there can never be enough for a public always ravenous for linguistic originality, it is the suffix “-gate”. My dream is that one day Bill Gates will marry the Star Trek actress Gates McFadden – and that while honeymooning in Berlin, and fretting about being broke as we all do, she is arrested by Interpol after trying to flog the Brandenburg Gate to a credulous Chinese tourist. If anything could sate this appetite, it is Gates Gates’s Gate-gate.”
(note: the word “flog” is British slang meaning “to sell”)
Some great questions from an article written in 2004 that is very germane following the dog & pony show called the Democrat Convention. Yes, the article addresses issues 8 years ago, but those questions ring with clarity today. Read on…and answer the question…
