Ok…it’s time for some anger, some reaction, goodness, something. So allow me to rant a bit. I am a thoroughly ticked-off conservative, and I’m still out there, alive and kicking. When I saw that many Republicans ignored, missed, skipped or somehow didn’t show up for the Senate Hearings of Obama’s appointees, I got mad. Perhaps there is a logical reason for them to miss those hearings, but I missed it. Why weren’t they there asking hard questions, calling them to account? I know, it might not have gained any traction, but at least the questions would have been asked. These people have no shame, no conscience, and no embarrassment, and they need to be at least asked some hard questions.
Now we have a potential cabinet with incredible baggage. A friend just wrote me asking about these nominees & their problems (ah, but who’s looking??). A proposed Chief of Staff that inherited Gov. Blago’s former congressional seat (at what price??). A proposed Sec. of State whose husband routinely collects huge sums from foreign governments, a clear conflict of interest. A proposed Att. Gen. that ok’d pardons (under Clinton) for palestinian terrorists and blatant campaign contributions (think Mark Rich). A Treasury head, which oversees the IRS, who flagrantly failed to pay taxes. A Commerce Sec. nominee who withdrew because of a Fed. probe into activities at his NM Governor’s office (which basically are no different than Hillary’s conflicts). An HHS Secretary nominee who was voted out of office, and who is being investigated for his involvement with a non-profit lender that evidently has abused its status as a charity. I have not exhausted the list…I have exhausted my time and space. I was just getting started…
So where does this stuff end? Where is the outrage? Then I read of Linsey Graham (R-???) giving approval of some of these nominees, saying we just have to overlook some of these “little” details because of their great resume.
Andrew Klavan writes “Why We Fight”, saying that we have to keep telling the truth and not believe all the lies being told by the media. “The Left has to lie for the simple reason that they are wrong and we are right, their policies don’t work and ours do. Look at the cities that liberal politicians and programs have devoured like locusts. Look at the liberal states that can’t rein in their spending even as they go broke. Look at how environmentalists have made us energy-slaves to monsters overseas. And look at how leftist, anti-patriotic and anti-religious policies in Europe have turned a once-great culture into a corpse that is being consumed by Islamo-fascist bacteria as we watch.”
Go to his article and read his explanations of how being surrounded by all this MSM has caused so many to adopt their attitudes towards ourselves.
Come on, folks. They have not won! Yes, they won this round, this election, but life is not over. We cannot stoop to believing their lies and propaganda. Yes, the American media is in trouble. They have totally replaced reality with a plausible leftist imitation. They so shamed themselves with their coverage of Palinm and Joe the Plumber that it’s a wonder anybody reads them any more. They totally ignored the vetting of Obama and his following.
I don’t care that the MSM says we are done, finished, washed up. No matter that we have prominent conservatives and Republicans saying much the same thing. They’ve been convinced to drink the cool aid, and for them, it’s over. Good riddance, let’s go on, find those Conservative leaders who will guide us out of this mess, and let’s rise up and watch conservative and capitalistic ideas find their footing. Then let’s move ahead; not dig graves for one another.
Selwyn Duke writes in “The Artificial Reality of the Matrix Media” that today’s MSM no longer subscribes to the notion that there is no moral right to an immoral opinion, nor to one bred of emotionalism unconstrained by reason, nor to a deceitful one. Journalism is alive and well today, but outside the mainstream media (MSM). Selwyn goes on to document how the MSM has made amalpractice an art. Good reading, for sure.
Here’s a great article with the question, “Will the GOP Default?” John Rice wonders what happened to the R’s, & why they don’t draw a line in the sand & stand their ground. Good advice.
Folks, it’s way past “Time for the GOP to Focus on Democrat Corruption.” I agree that it is clear from here that the D’s represent the politics of personal corruption. Hawkins goes on to document the D’s lies & examples of corruption, or even outright crimes. This article needs to be read by every conservative with the guts to stand up. When these people are seen for who they really are, my goodness, what opportunities for us conservatives. We need to get our act together and make these D’s “live their life on their heels.” More here…
I think history will be much kinder to President Bush than today’s media & political pundits. Last night’s speech was a exceptional example of this President who has done everything he could to keep us safe. 9-11 changed everything, and we need to be reminded of that. Here’s the text of the President’s speech last night. I think he did a commendable job.
